Our History

Mr.Rajoo came from India, and started his working life in 1936 at Komala Vilas. After 10 years he established Komala Vilas in 29th May 1947. He together with his brothers built this restaurant, as a world  known Indian Vegetarian Restaurant and a household name in Singapore, with a branch at 82 Serangoon Road, selling sweets and savouries. Now it has expanded with a branch at 12-14 Buffalo Road. At level 2 we specialized North Indian, South Indian, and Indian Chinese cuisine

Komala Vilas - The Restaurant

Komala Vilas is a typical South Indian Restaurant serving authentic Indian Food on Banana Leaf, where eating is a time honoured affair. Established in 29th May 1947, Komala Vilas serves the finest South Indian Vegetarian Cuisine in Singapore. Originating in Thanjavur, a district in Tamilnadu, the cuisine is served on a fresh banana leaf. In addition to the wide range of South Indian dishes, Komala Vilas serves a splendid selection of dishes from the North. A good Indian meal is never complete without desserts and at Komala Vilas, there is a delightful array of sweets from all parts of India to choose from.
